East-Tallinn Central Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine provides you with inevitable medical care no matter if you are covered by medical insurance or not. Inevitable is a medical care where it´s postponement could directly endanger your life or health. Children younger than 15-years old should turn to Children´s hospital.
To obtain emergency medical care you should present your personal identification and standard appointment fee (required!) at the reception desk of the Department.
Standard appointment fee is not required, if you are
- under 19-years old (ID required),
- pregnant (upon presenting your pregnancy chart) or
- in a life-threatening situation if followed by a direct treatment at the inpatient department;.
If possible, please bring with you an overview of earlier medical conditions and a list of your daily medication.
Please note, that there will be no transportation provided after checking out from the hospital. A check-out may sometimes occur during night hours – therefore you should be able to cover the transportation at your own costs.
Once you have arrived to our Department, you will receive a primary examination by our nurse. The nurse will determine your health condition and the urgency of medical care needed (there are 5 categories of patients – red, orange, yellow, green and blue). In case your health-situation has changed to worse, while waiting for the appointment, don’t hesitate to check back to the nurse.
