40 baked treats were pitted against each other at the Jubilee Baked Treat 230 event of the East Tallinn Central Hospital

8. May 2015

The Jubilee Baked Treat 230 contest organised yesterday to celebrate the anniversary of the East Tallinn Central Hospital attracted 40 baked contestants, which became an unexpected and delicious surprise for the team of organisers and the jury.

The honourable jury helped select the top three. We also awarded special prizes and the attending employees chose the people’s favourite.

The special prize for pro-active attitude went to the wonderful patients of the Järve Unit and with their supervisor.

The most eager participant was the Pathology Unit, which submitted a total of 7 baked treats.

Member of the jury Angeelika Kang chosebelyashi (meat pies) baked by the Second Cardiology Department as the winner of her special prize.

The jury voted to honour:

·              Triin Rootalu’s cheesecake, Spring

·              Tiina Lille’s cheesecake with kama and rye

The title of Jubilee Baked Treat 230 was awarded to the homemade yeast-free bread baked by Karin Põhjakase, who works at the Gastroenterology Centre.

Rannarahva’s baked treat consisting of fish and small bits of rye was voted the people’s favourite by an overwhelming majority of votes.

The event has shown that the team of the East Tallinn Central Hospital can rule the roost in any competition!
