Register for your first prenatal appointment quickly and easily through the iPatient portal

2. August 2016

Registering your pregnancy in the first trimester is important for the health of both the expectant mother and the future child.  All expectant women can quickly and conveniently reserve an appointment through the East Tallinn Central Hospital patient portal iPatsient (iPatient).

Appointments with the midwife of your choice can be set up at any time and very easily through the East Tallinn Central Hospital patient portal iPatsient - www.ipatsient.ee.

“iPatsient is a modern solution in today’s fast-paced world. With just a few clicks, a woman who is expecting a child can make an appointment with a midwife,” said Silja Staalfeldt-Rahumägi, head midwife with the Maternity Counselling Unit, adding: “An appointment can be made with a midwife as soon as the pregnancy test is positive. The best time for the appointment is from week 6 to 9 of the pregnancy, a time when the child and the child’s heartbeat can already be seen on ultrasound.  The future mother should definitely register their pregnancy before week 12 of the pregnancy, as this is important for the health of both the expectant mother and the future child as well for paying family benefits.”

Appointments can also be made by telephone at 666 1900 (Mon-Fri 7:15-18:00). The midwife appointment is free of charge for women with health insurance and no referral is needed.

The Central Hospital’s Maternity Counselling Unit welcomes all expectant women for monitoring their pregnancy.
