New in-patient fee applies starting from March 1st

New in-patient fee (2,5 Euros/day) applies at East-Tallinn Central Hospital starting from March 1st, 2013. Patients are not required to pay for more than 10 days of period of time per treatment.

In-patient fee derives from § 71 of Act on Health Insurance and from the East-Tallinn Central Hospital Council Resolution on February 18, 2013.

In-patient fee applies to insured patients checking in starting from March 1st, 2013.

The fee can be paid at reception desks or Women´s Clinic emergency room in cash or by card. Money transfers are available as well.

In-patient fee does not apply in following cases:

  • Non-insured patients;
  • Pregnancy or delivery (documentary verification required);
  • For patients under 19 years;
  • For period of time spent in intensive care unit;
  • Cost-sharing long-term nursing services;
  • Cost-sharing rehabilitation services;
  • Services with extra charge;
  • Chemotherapy services;
  • Re-hospitalization due to treatment complication if less than 30 days passed from the end of first hospitalization;
  • For inpatient who is a guardian of a baby younger than 1 year old;
  • Rehabilitation services with an assignment letter from Social Security Office;
  • Patient´s death.
