Defending of theses of Tallinn Health Care College students at East Tallinn Central Hospital

The students of Tallinn Health Care College defended their theses in the Tuppits lecture hall of East Tallinn Central Hospital.

On 15 January, 21 students from Tallinn Health Care College defended their theses. A total of seven theses were defended.

Kätlin Unt, Karoliine Looring, Mari-Ann Parel, Kadi Kalev and Tiina Nagland defended their thesis ‘Documenting the information needs and informing of a patient receiving chemotherapy and nurses’ experiences in assessing and documenting the information needs of a patient at the Centre of Oncology of East Tallinn Central Hospital’.

The thesis of Georg Oskar Peedosaar, Kaspar Kärner and Janno Kuldkepp was entitled ‘Assessing and documenting the information needs of a patient at the Centre of General and Oncological Surgery of East Tallinn Central Hospital’.

The thesis of Anžela Pavlova, Olesja Petmanson, Anna-Liis Kaasik and Veronika Martila was entitled ‘Assessing and documenting the information needs of a patient with breast cancer at various stages of treatment’.

Triin Aav and Kerttu Kangur defended their thesis ‘The role of a nurse-counsellor in improving the compliance of adult patients receiving oral chemotherapy’.

The thesis of Mirjam Repnau and Greteliis Vester was entitled ‘Nursing care for a patient with gastric cancer in the postoperative period following a gastrectomy’.

Aleksandra Leinvald and Marek Reinol defended their thesis ‘Post-operative nursing care for a patient following a laparoscopic hysterectomy’.

The thesis of Pille-Riin Pärn, Kätliin Lees and Marina Novikova was entitled ‘Nursing care for a patient receiving chemotherapy under the FLOT regimen’.

Three theses were completed in cooperation with East Tallinn Central Hospital. The theses explored the documentation of information needs and informing of oncology patients and nurses’ experiences in assessing and documenting information needs at East Tallinn Central Hospital.

The defence committee included Eha Hõrrak, Teele Vaga and Kaidi Traumann.
