Anaemia screening test (hemoglobin)

Anaemia means a decrease in blood haemoglobin concentration and erythrocyte count below the age- and sex-adjusted normal values.

Signs of anaemia are gradually increasing fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, loss of productiveness, pale skin, etc. Erythrocytes or red blood cells (RBC) contain haemoglobin. Haemoglobin’s (Hb) task is oxygen transportation. Hb and RBC are a part of a haemogram (CBC-5Diff), i.e a complete blood count.
