Laparoscopic umbilical hernia, inguinal hernia or femoral hernia surgery

A few incisions are made into the stomach. Surgical instruments and a small camera are inserted into the abdominal cavity through the wounds.

The abdominal cavity is filled with carbon dioxide in order for the organs to be distinguished from each other better. The hernia is removed and a mesh is placed in the same location which reduces the likelihood of recurrent hernia. The skin is closed with stitches.
