Surgical sperm retrieval

In some cases, when there are no sperm cells in the man’s seminal fluid, obtaining sperm from the testicles or epididymis by biopsy (TESE, MESA) is indicated.

This method is used in the case of extremely severe sperm pathology. If there are no spermatozoa in the seminal fluid, we will try to find them in the epididymis or testicular tissue. The procedure is performed under local or general anaesthesia. The obtained spermatozoa are used for the fertilisation of egg cells by the ICSI method.

Testicular tissue can also be frozen and preserved.
