Balloon-assisted enteroscopy

A test for identifying diseases of the small intestine. With the help of a balloon located at the endoscope, the small intestine is pulled onto the endoscope, and the endoscope is advanced inside the intestine in this way.

During the examination, it is possible to take tissue samples and perform treatment procedures, if necessary (taking a biopsy, polypectomy). Since the procedure may take a long time, it is usually performed under anaesthesia and in the day treatment ward.
