Epicutaneous tests

Epicutaneous tests are used for identifying the potential allergen when diagnosing allergic contact dermatitis.

To perform the test, allergens are placed on the upper back using patches (the number of patches depends on the number of allergens studied). Patches will be left on the back for two whole days (48 hours), after which they will be removed. The result of the test will be evaluated during the third appointment (usually 48 hours after the patches have been removed).
