Surgical treatment of urinary incontinence in women and men

Treatment of urinary incontinence in men using an AMS sling system

One of the side effects of surgical treatment for prostate cancer, which has a significant impact on the quality of life, is urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy. For the treatment of urinary incontinence in men we use a male AMS sling system, which permits the use of a surgical technique to successfully restore urinary continence in men with light to moderate urinary incontinence.

Treatment of urinary incontinence in women. Surgical treatment is indicated in stress incontinence and mixed urinary incontinence. The purpose of the treatment is to support the junction between the urethra and the bladder so the urethra would not open at exertion. A special prosthetic sling (TOT/TVT) is used as support, which is implanted under the urethra during surgery.
