May was the month with the most twins – 12 pairs! Last year, there was even an occasion where the siblings in one pair of twins ended up with different dates on their birth certificates (28 and 29 June).
In September, however, our maternity hospital delivered triplets – three baby girls. Delivering triplets is a little more special than usual and requires better medical preparedness. There are usually 1-3 sets of triplets born in Estonia every year.
March was the month with the highest number of newborns in 2021, with a total of 379 babies, of whom 185 were girls and 194 boys.
According to a survey conducted by research company Saar Poll in 2021, East Tallinn Central Hospital is the No. 1 hospital choice for women in Tallinn and Harju County. The Women’s Clinic of East Tallinn Central Hospital was highly valued among the respondents and was recognised for its friendly and caring service, the sufficient time and attention given to patients and professional medical care and problem-solving.
