East Tallinn Central Hospital obstetrician-gynaecologist Ferenc Szirko nominated for a City of Tallinn decoration
Tallinn City Government has submitted a proposal to the City Council to award a City of Tallinn decoration to Ferenc Szirko, an obstetrician-gynaecologist at East Tallinn Central Hospital, whose work has over the years contributed to the development of obstetrics, gynaecology and perinatal medicine.
Szirko’s contribution has been particularly significant in the field of perinatal medicine, where he has worked with high-risk pregnancies, fetal assessment and the management of complicated deliveries. His work has helped improve the quality and safety of care and supported the adoption of up-to-date clinical approaches in practice.
In addition to his clinical work, Szirko has also contributed to the broader development of his specialty. He has shared his knowledge with colleagues, supported the training of younger doctors, and taken part in discussions and collaborative projects aimed at improving the quality of obstetric care.
According to Mayor Peeter Raudsepp, the decoration recognises people whose work and dedication have made a significant contribution to the development of Tallinn.
The final decision on awarding the decorations will be made by the City Council. The awards are scheduled to be presented on 13 May at the Tallinn City Theatre.
