Cardiopulmonary stress test
Cardiopulmonary stress test is a diagnostic examination method that allows us to assess circulation, respiration and muscle metabolism as a whole during exercise.
Along with monitoring the adaptation processes of the cardiovascular system, changes in breathing function, inhaled oxygen and exhaled carbon dioxide are continuously recorded during the test using a breathing mask and a gas analyser.
The test is used to find bronchospasm triggered by exercise. The patient’s physical performance and changes in respiratory function during exercise are evaluated. It is primarily used in the diagnosis of exercise-induced asthma.
