Lesson plan

A general physical workout with a moderate and appropriate intensity tailored to your abilities, incorporating simple aerobic steps and full-body muscle training. The class does not include complex step combinations, and you can adjust the pace to suit yourself. All pregnant women, regardless of the stage of pregnancy, are welcome.

Prenatal exercise plays a crucial role in shaping a woman's pregnancy and childbirth experience. Even if you have never exercised before, pregnancy is the perfect time to take the first step on this journey under the guidance of experienced professionals.

We go through the delivery process - what happens and how a partner can support the delivering woman. What can and must be done to relieve the process and what is just happening without outer interruption. We discuss natural (massage, water) and medical ways (epidural, injections, laughing gas) of pain-relief. We will also talk about the newborn - what is happening during the first hours after birth, APGAR, first feeding etc.

Women´s clinic tour with a midwife. We will talk about practical issues regarding childbirth - where and how to come, parking etc. You will have a sneak peek into the delivery rooms and postpartum rooms. The midwife will explain to you the important details about the delivery and postpartum period in the hospital.
You are welcome to take one partner with you to the tour. 

Gathering for the start of the tour is on the ground floor of the women´s clinic in front of the registration desk.

In this class, we explore the many benefits of breastfeeding for both baby and mother, how to make those first feeds comfortable and successful, support your milk supply, and understand your baby’s feeding cues. We’ll go through practical tips on positioning, achieving a deep latch, and caring for yourself while breastfeeding. We will also look at ways to avoid common challenges and where to find help if you need it.

Partners are warmly welcome to join and learn how they can support the breastfeeding journey.

The lecture includes topics such as: what to observe and evaluate in the newborn baby´s first hours of life, newborn jaundice, normal changes in the newborns´ body weight in the first few weeks and research programs done during the hospital stay period. We will also talk about childcare: washing, bathing, feeding, carrying, changing the diaper, dressing, going out, newborn safety.
