East Tallinn Central Hospital Emergency Medicine Centre (EMC) at Ravi Street celebrated the achievement of a major milestone. The gateway to the ambulance garage reached its designated height and as per tradition, a celebratory party was held to thank the construction workers.

According to Head of the Emergency Medicine Centre Märt Põlluveer, there is still a lot of work to be done because tenders for machinery and furnishing are still to come. “Regardless, this occasion is cause for celebration because we can now see the layout solution created during the design phase in real life,” says Põlluveer.

The EMC has moved to a temporary medical campus on Ravi Street for the duration of the construction process. The campus houses the EMC, the EMC radiology unit as well as the general reception area for outpatient care.

The EMC plans to move back to the reconstructed premises in spring 2022. Reconstruction work and operation in the temporary premises will cost ca five million euros. Construction work is carried out by Ehitus5ECO OÜ.
