Spirometry
Spirometry is a test of breathing function, during which lung capacity, elasticity and airway resistance during forced breathing is assessed. Inhalation and exhalation with maximum depth and speed is studied during the test. The test is mainly used for diagnosing asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and monitoring the treatment of these.
The spirometry test is performed under the guidance of a nurse and its results depend on the proper performance and good cooperation of the patient with the nurse.
