Diabetes screening test (glycohaemoglobin)

Glycohaemoglobin (HbA1c) indicates the blood glucose level in the longer term.

Glycohaemoglobin production is a slow process, taking place in red blood cells during their lifetime (approx. 120 days) and depending on their glucose content. It is used to diagnose or monitor the treatment of diabetes mellitus.
