Minister Karmen Joller visited East Tallinn Central Hospital
On 13 August, Minister of Social Affairs Karmen Joller visited East Tallinn Central Hospital to discuss the future direction of Estonia’s healthcare system — including hospital network development, the organisation of healthcare services, and the renewal of Tallinn's hospital infrastructure.

The meeting focused on cooperation opportunities between hospitals and the Estonian Health Insurance Fund to improve access to care and ensure high-quality services for all patients.
“The development of the national hospital network must be based on people’s needs and guarantee modern, high-quality care. Our goal is to ensure that both emergency and planned treatment are provided seamlessly and in a patient-friendly environment,” said Minister Joller.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of strategic planning and targeted investments to help Tallinn hospitals respond to a rapidly changing medical landscape and growing patient expectations.
“East Tallinn Central Hospital is committed to providing the best possible care and being a reliable partner to the state and other healthcare institutions. Clear guidance from the state is crucial for us to develop both our services and infrastructure in line with patients’ needs,” said Tarmo Bakler, Chairman of the Management Board of East Tallinn Central Hospital.
