Tarmo Bakler to continue leading East Tallinn Central Hospital
The Supervisory Board of East Tallinn Central Hospital has decided to extend the term of office of Tarmo Bakler, Chairman of the Management Board, until the end of 2027.
According to Ralf Allikvee, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of East Tallinn Central Hospital, the hospital has developed purposefully in recent years, creating a basis for the years ahead. “The Supervisory Board values Tarmo Bakler’s work in leading the hospital. The hospital has operated steadily and continued preparations for the establishment of Tallinn Hospital. Continuity in leadership is important at the current stage of development, which is why the Supervisory Board decided to extend his term of office until the end of 2027,” Allikvee said.
Bakler said the trust placed in him by the Supervisory Board is a significant responsibility. “Recent years have brought many changes to healthcare. I am grateful to the hospital’s staff and partners, whose dedication has supported the hospital’s development. Together, we will continue working to provide patients with high-quality, modern and person-centred care, and to prepare for the next stages of Tallinn Hospital,” Bakler said.
Bakler has led East Tallinn Central Hospital since 2021. Under his leadership, the hospital has focused on organisational development and efficiency, infrastructure modernisation and preparations for Tallinn Hospital.
East Tallinn Central Hospital is owned by the City of Tallinn and employs more than 2,500 people. In 2025, the hospital recorded more than half a million appointments with medical specialists, nurses and midwives.
