Vitreoretinal surgery

Vitreoretinal surgery or vitrectomy is the surgical treatment of various vitreous or retinal diseases using microsurgery. This surgical technique can be used to operate on a number of conditions, such as vitreous haematoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular hole, epimacular membrane, retinal detachment, dislocated lenses, and artificial lenses.
