"Dr Kai Sukles has long-term experience as the Head of the Clinic of Internal Medicine at the East Tallinn Central Hospital,” says Kairi Vaher, Chairman of the Council of ETCH. “During the last three years working in the conditions of the Covid pandemic, Dr Sukles, in addition to the Clinic of the Internal Medicine, managed the entire clinical work of the hospital regarding Covid patients. She has a clear vision as to the directions in which the hospital’s treatment activities must develop and on expanding cooperation with other medical institutions. On behalf of the Council, I would like to thank Ene Halling, the current Board Member and Head of Treatment, for her work and contribution to the development of the hospital.”

Kai Sukles graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tartu. She started working at the Clinic of Internal Medicine of East Tallinn Central Hospital on 1 November 2002 as the Head of the Internal Medicine Department. Kai Sukles has worked as the Head of the Clinic of Internal Medicine for the last nine years.

“As Head of Treatment, I consider the development of specialist centres to be important,” says Dr Sukles. “I wish to support my colleagues on their journey of professional and personal development. Strong cooperation between specialties, clinics and clinical and non-clinical services forms the basis for the comprehensive development of our hospital and the best possible treatment for patients. Each person is valuable and contributes to the hospital. My heart’s desire is to guide young colleagues and students, since they are our future.”

“Dr Kai Sukles is a good doctor, leader and person,” says Tarmo Bakler, Chairman of the Board. “Her previous work experience and forward-looking vision support the comprehensive development of both the field of treatment and the entire hospital. I wish Kai Sukles success in her new position.”

22 June will be Dr Ene Halling’s last day as Board Member and Head of Treatment. “I have worked as a doctor for 41 years and for 30 of those years I have worked at East Tallinn Central Hospital,” says Dr Halling. “In my opinion, working at East Tallinn Central Hospital is a privilege because it is simply a very good hospital.”
