Pheochromocytoma or adrenergic tissue or medullary thyroid cancer scintigraphy

This examination is used to evaluate the spread of pheochromocytoma, neuroblastoma or medullary thyroid cancer, to detect relapses and plan 131I-MIBG treatment.

The examination involves intravenous injections of a tissue-specific substance, meta-iodobenzylguanidine (MIBG), marked with radioactive iodine (123I). This examination shall be performed with a hybrid imaging device, a gamma camera / computed tomography device (SPET/CT). You can come to the examination only with a specialist’s referral.
