Radioisotopic scanning of brain

This examination shall be used to evaluate the blood circulation of the brain if there is a doubt of Alzheimer’s disease or to evaluate the function of dopamine receptors in case of suspected Parkinson’s disease.

The examination involves intravenous injections of neural tissue specific substance, marked with a radioactive substance. This examination shall be performed with a hybrid imaging device, a gamma camera / computed tomography device (SPET/CT). You can come to the examination only with a specialist’s referral.
